As we look at Jesus in Mark’s Gospel, we see that he leaves us and his disciples with a choice in Mark chapters 9 and 10: it’s self-seeking or self-sacrifice, it’s power or service. So we’ll be using Mark’s Gospel to help us think through what it means to develop the mindset of a servant in our local church and community. We’ll also be seeing how self-serving pastors so often fail to remain faithful to God’s Word.
